FILIPINO “DIRTY” BOXING SEMINAR

March 9th, 2019

Saturday 2 – 5 pm

FIGHT LIKE JASON BOURNE!

FILIPINO “DIRTY” BOXING SEMINAR

Join us & learn the Filipino martial art known as Panantukan! This art is excellent for self-defense & improving your health & fitness. Beginners are welcome!

What is Panantukan?

Panantukan (Filipino Boxing), is not a sport, but a street fighting system. Its techniques do not follow a set of rules. It is known as "Dirty Boxing". It consists of upper-body striking techniques such as punches, elbows, head-butts, shoulder strikes and limb/nerve destructions. It is often combined with Sikaran (Filipino Low-Line Kicking Art) which include low kicks, tripping & knee strikes to the legs, shins, & groin.

Panantukan is directly influenced by knife fighting. In Filipino boxing (as opposed to Western Boxing), practitioners circle constantly to avoid getting hit and look for openings, instead of standing and trading blows with an opponent, just like they would with knife fighting. If your practice is based on knife fighting, you have to become much more sophisticated with your footwork, evasions and delivery because one wrong move could mean death. Filipino boxing is exactly like knife fighting, except instead of cutting with a blade, we strike with a closed fist.

Our Panantukan program comes from the Inosanto Academy system. Guro Adrian Tandez, is a certified Filipino Martial Arts instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto and Guro Paul Vunak. Guro Tandez has been in martial arts for over 20 years.
